Looking to help your child learn or practice the 8 times table? How to practice the 8 Times Table?

This game mechanic turns practice into a motivating challenge: your child aims for a perfect score out of genuine enthusiasm rather than obligation, and progresses while having fun thanks to our times tables games.
3- Worksheet to print and complete
Once your child has learned the 8 times table, this worksheet is the ideal tool to check what they've learned: it's a list of multiplications with the missing answers for your child to fill in. After completing the worksheet, ask them to check their answers using a multiplication chart, which remains the most practical tool for this.
Then have them circle any incorrect answers, to identify their weak points and focus practice on those alone. There's no need to discourage them by making them redo the whole worksheet: for the multiplications that are still tricky, have them copy those multiplications several times in a row, and repeat this for 2 or 3 consecutive days. You can also make use of their auditory memory by asking them to recite the answers out loud.
As long as there are still mistakes or hesitations with the 8 times table, it's best to keep practicing before moving on to the 9 times table.

Trick for the 8 Times Table
In the 8 times table, there is only one multiplication to learn! It is 8 x 8 = 64. Memorize the 8 x 8 multiplication once and for all, in record time, thanks to the octopus picture and its little story!
Why is there only one multiplication to learn?
- When you get to the 8 times table, it means you've learned your tables from 2 to 7, so you should already know 8 x 2 (= 2 x 8), 8 x 3 (= 3 x 8), 8 x 4 (= 4 x 8), 8 x 5 (= 5 x 8), 8 x 6 (= 6 x 8), and 8 x 7 (= 7 x 8). If not, keep practicing with the previous tables before tackling the 8 times table.
- And for 8 x 9, you don't need to learn it by heart, since there's a trick that makes it easy to find all the results of the 9 times table.

Trick to memorize 8 x 8
Story of the 2 octopuses:
Two octopuses in the shape of an 8 are on their buoys.
They both get off the buoy.
The first octopus wants to observe the fish, so he puts on his mask and snorkel. The snorkel and his head on the surface of the water form a 6.
The second octopus, wearing a sailor's cap, prefers to go sailing. He moves away on a sailboat in the shape of a 4.
You now know that 8 x 8 = 64.
