10 Times Table – PDF, Games and Online Tools
The 10 times table is a special case: it's one of the simplest multiplication tables, since a single rule is all you need to find every result: just add a zero, no need to learn it by heart! Check out our trick for the 10 times table to fully understand the principle. 3- Flashcards for the 10 Times Table
Have you tried flashcards before? They're a method that works really well for children with a good visual memory, helping them memorize multiplications by heart, at their own pace.
To prepare them, glue each page of the PDF onto a piece of cardstock to make the cards sturdier and prevent see-through, then cut out each card along the solid lines. Next, fold each card along the dotted lines and glue the 2 sides together to hold them in place. This gives you cards showing a multiplication on the front, and its result on the back.
Shuffle the cards, then show them to your child one at a time : let them give their answer, whether right or wrong, or wait until they hesitate for too long, before flipping the card over so they can check. Set aside the cards they've mastered, so practice can focus on the ones that are still tricky, and revisit those regularly until they're fully memorized.

Trick for the 10 Times Table
The 10 times table is really very simple ! There's no multiplication to memorize ! You just need to understand a very simple rule : when you multiply a number by 10, just add a zero after the number to obtain the result of the multiplication. To help you understand, take a look at the examples below.

Multiply by 10
The above rule applies in the same way whatever number is multiplied by 10. Here are a few examples :
- 10 x 97 = 970
- 10 x 200 = 2000
- 10 x 845 = 8450
- 10 x 1399 = 13990
- 10 x 10000 = 100000
- ...
Multiply by 100
If you multiply a number by 100, it's the same thing except that you add 2 zeros at the end. If you multiply by 1000, you add 3 zeros, and so on… Here are a few examples :
- 100 x 8 = 800
- 100 x 50 = 5000
- 100 x 125 = 12500
- 100 x 999 = 99900
- 100 x 1400 = 140000
- ...
